Pennsylvania, USA - Amid the heated atmosphere of the American election season, former President Donald Trump narrowly escaped an assassination attempt on Sunday. The incident occurred while Trump was delivering a speech at an election rally in Pennsylvania. A sniper had targeted Trump, but he lowered his head just three seconds before the bullet could strike, causing it to graze his ear instead. This incident has sparked widespread attention and discussions, particularly following a tweet from a senior member of ISKCON, the International Society for Krishna Consciousness.
Divine Intervention and Past Deeds
Radharaman Das, Vice-President of ISKCON, tweeted that Trump's survival was an act of divine intervention. According to Das, the former President’s life was saved by the grace of Lord Jagannath. The monk's tweet suggested that Trump’s narrow escape was connected to a benevolent act he performed 48 years ago, during the organization of the first Rath Yatra in New York.
The 1976 Rath Yatra Connection
In 1976, ISKCON faced a significant challenge while trying to organize the first Rath Yatra in New York. The major hurdle was finding a suitable location to construct the chariot. During that time, Donald Trump, then a 30-year-old rising figure in the American real estate market, stepped in to help. Most wealthy individuals in New York had refused to provide space for the chariot construction. Following a recommendation, ISKCON representatives decided to approach Trump.
A Gesture of Generosity
With Mahaprasad (sanctified food) and a letter requesting assistance, the ISKCON representatives visited Trump's office. Although Trump's secretary accepted the Mahaprasad and the letter, she cautioned them against having high hopes, stating that Trump was unlikely to provide the required land. Despite this, three days later, the representatives received an unexpected call from Trump’s secretary. She informed them that Trump had decided to provide the space after consuming the Mahaprasad. This gesture allowed the successful organization of the Rath Yatra.
A Miraculous Change of Heart
Interestingly, Trump's assistance wasn’t the only surprising turn of events. The New York Police Department, which had not permitted any parades on Fifth Avenue since 1962 due to restrictions, also experienced a change of heart. When ISKCON representatives approached the New York Police Chief, he granted permission for the parade and signed the permit, reportedly saying, "I don't know why I'm signing this.
Reflections on Divine Protection
Radharaman Das’s tweet highlighted the significance of these events, especially during the ongoing grand Rath Yatra of Lord Jagannath. He emphasized that the attack on Trump and his subsequent survival are perceived as divine miracles. This narrative not only underscores the notion of divine protection but also brings attention to the unexpected ways in which past deeds can influence present circumstances.
As the investigation into the assassination attempt continues, this incident serves as a poignant reminder of the unforeseen connections between past actions and present outcomes. Trump's escape, seen by many as miraculous, has revived interest in his past benevolence and the broader concept of divine intervention in human affairs.
