Odia Film 'Parab' Targets National Spotlight : Set to Release in Three Languages

Parab, a multilingual Odia film, weaves drama, culture, and emotion, set for a Pan-India release in Odia, Hindi, and Telugu.

Bhubaneswar, Odisha : The Odia film industry is poised for a landmark moment with the upcoming release of Parab, a multi-lingual cinematic venture set to debut in Odia, Hindi, and Telugu. The film, helmed by director Chinmay Das and produced by Dipendra Samal under the JP Motion Pictures banner, is set to hit theaters nationwide, capturing the essence of Odisha’s rich storytelling tradition on a broader canvas.

A Pan-India Ambition for Ollywood

Parab marks a bold step for Ollywood, aligning with the recent trend of Odia films such as Daman and Pratikshya, which have reinvigorated audience interest in regional cinema. The film has secured a collaboration with Bollywood’s prestigious Panorama Studios, a Pan-India production house known for distributing films across major linguistic markets.

Producer Dipendra Samal shared his vision for the film, stating, “We are bringing Parab to theaters in Odia and Hindi simultaneously on December 20th. The Telugu version will follow ten days later. With its release across 200 screens nationwide, we aim to position Ollywood on the Pan-India stage.”

An Intriguing Star Cast and Storyline

The film boasts a stellar ensemble, featuring veteran actors Siddhant Mahapatra and Anu Choudhury in lead roles. Supporting performances by Dipanwita, Suryamayee, Choudhury Jayaprakash Das, and others promise a cinematic experience rich in depth and diversity. While the storyline remains under wraps, industry insiders hint at a narrative that intertwines drama, culture, and contemporary issues, making it a compelling watch for audiences across linguistic and cultural divides.

Theatrical and OTT Releases: A Dual Strategy

In a first for Odia cinema, Parab will simultaneously leverage theatrical and OTT platforms, ensuring its reach to a global audience. Panorama Studios’ collaboration is expected to facilitate seamless distribution, offering the film an unprecedented level of visibility.

An Industry Game-Changer?

Director Chinmay Das expressed confidence in the film’s ability to resonate with audiences. “We hope Parab will evoke the same emotional connection that Daman achieved, creating a lasting impact in the hearts of viewers,” he stated.

For the Odia film industry, Parab is more than a cinematic release—it is a statement of ambition and a testament to the potential of regional storytelling to transcend boundaries. As the countdown to its release begins, Parab stands as a symbol of pride for Odisha and a beacon of hope for Ollywood’s future in the Pan-India arena.
