Bhubaneswar, Odisha : In a bold move to strengthen and celebrate Odisha’s cultural and linguistic heritage, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has announced a substantial ₹200 crore allocation in the 2024-25 budget. This investment aims to promote and expand Odia identity through a series of targeted initiatives.
Major Initiatives Launched
The Chief Minister’s plan includes several key projects:
- Odia Identity Building : A new facility dedicated to the preservation and promotion of Odia cultural identity.
- Odia Translation Academy : An institution to advance and support the translation of works into Odia.
- Global Repository for Palm Leaf Manuscripts : Establishment of a worldwide archive to protect and study traditional manuscripts.
- Paika Rebellion Memorial : Construction of a memorial to honor the historic Paika Rebellion.
- International Recognition for Bali Jatra : Efforts to elevate the Bali Jatra festival to an international level.
